My Phone Feels Less Addictive, But I Use It More Than Ever

For years, I hated smartphones. Now, I use mine more than ever. Yet, while I spend far more hours looking at a screen than ever before, it still feels less addictive than it once did. What's changed?

If you're already a Niagara Launcher fan, you know how great it is for customization. You're able to create wildly different experiences with just a few tweaks here and there. However, the simple options do add up, and creating a new look from zero takes time. To make things even easier, Niagara Launcher is adding support for themes.

With just one tap, you can apply themes that change your wallpaper, icons, colors, fonts, and widgets. Niagara is launching 12 themes for Pro subscribers to start, with a handful available for free users. Go to Niagara Settings > Look > Themes to try them out. In the future, Niagara is planning to make themese from the community available to browse as well.

Beyond themes, the update includes three new Anycon icon packs. There's "Outline Chroma," which is minimal outlines with colors. The old Niagara Dots icon pack is getting a new shape and can adapt to theme colors. And the "Bright" pack features vibrant shapes and colors. These icon packs are available at Niagara Settings > Look > App Icons.

Other than that, there are some subtle new animations and a slick new welcome screen for first-time users. You can try out the latest version of Niagara Launcher right now by grabbing the beta build from Niagara's various community channels. It will roll out to the Play Store in the next few weeks. A great Android launcher is getting even better.
