Microsoft is testing an update that brings together all your play history and libraries in the Xbox ecosystem, across your consoles, cloud gaming, and PCs. Even though it's still only a partial view of your PC gaming, it's one step closer to a unified experience across Microsoft's platforms.
Your recent games are also now following you across all your devices. Whether you're gaming on your console, PC, or even a Windows handheld, a new play history tile on the Home screen makes it a breeze to jump right back into whatever you were playing within the Xbox ecosystem. So, if you are in the middle of a late-night session on your laptop, you can seamlessly pick it up on your handheld for a quick match or dive deep back into it on your console.
This is a really easy way to stay connected to your favorite games, no matter the device. To find your cloud-playable console games, all you have to do is head to the Xbox PC app Library and select the "cloud playable" filter. It'll give you a full list of everything you can stream.
As for your play history, you'll spot it at the end of the "Jump back in" list on your Home screen. While these bigger tiles show off games you've recently played on your current device, that play history tile goes above and beyond, showing games you've played on any Xbox device.
It looks really easy to work with to me. It's in a box like it would be on a phone that has multiple apps in one folder. Having your entire cloud-playable library and play history right there at your fingertips in the Xbox PC app is much easier.
I am glad that Xbox is finally making things convenient because I have spent a while searching for games I've played, even on the same console. However, keep in mind that it will take a while to get to the public, since this is still being tested.
If you want to join in on this and see how it would look, the Xbox Insiders program is free to join. Just remember that you are expected to give feedback, so Microsoft can make updates like this work on everyone's devices.
