Google has finally confirmed that its next Pixel launch event will take place on August 20, 2025, in New York City. Google sent out invites that tell attendees to expect the latest updates to the Pixel Portfolio.

While there's no verifiable information out there on what's coming, there's some speculation that the base Pixel 10 may come with three cameras instead of the usual two. On top of that, there may be some truth to a rumored completely dustproof Pixel 10 Pro Fold, which sounds pretty awesome for anyone who's a bit clumsy with their tech.

This isn't just about the Pixel phones: Google's Pixel Watch 4 is another big device in this portfolio. It could get a bigger battery and a slightly thicker design. Battery life is always a big deal for smartwatches, so that would be a welcome change.

The Pixel Buds are another big device from the lineup, and it would be nice to see them get another entry. Hopefully, there will be more budget-friendly options announced during the show. If that's true, it would be great for anyone looking for a more affordable option without sacrificing too much quality.

The Pixel 10 Camera Leak Has Me Excited (And Slightly Concerned)

I always get a little spark of joy every time a new Pixel leak drops. There’s something special about Google’s approach to smartphones: clean Android, tight integration of AI features, and camera wizardry that often punches above its weight class. So naturally, when we got our first proper look at the renders of the Pixel 10 last month, I was immediately intrigued.

It isn't hard to speculate that AI will be mentioned a few times during the show. Google has added Gemini to plenty of things, even switching out Google Assistant for Gemini in smart watches. Gemini is a big deal for the company, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Google show off Gemini's capabilities in the next Pixel devices.

Just like in previous years, the upcoming Pixel phones are going to be powered by a custom-built Tensor chip. However, what's really interesting this time around is the rumor reported by phonearena that the Tensor G5 may be manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC). This is a big deal because TSMC is the go-to partner for companies like Qualcomm and Apple, so a switch from Samsung Foundry could mean some serious performance improvements for the Tensor chip.

Google will likely be streaming next month's event live on YouTube, so there's no need to worry if you don't get invited. It's always fun to see what Google has up its sleeve, and I am excited to see where the technology is going. Hopefully, this year will see huge improvements that aren't entirely based on AI.
