One thing I love about this digital streaming age and its numerous platforms is the plethora of original content they bring with them. Peacock has come a long way since they first appeared, and ever since seeing a certain one of their originals listed below, I’ve paid a lot more attention to their content.

Starring Craig Robinson, Killing It is a dark comedy about class, capitalism, and one man’s quest to capture the American dream. It’s also about hunting snakes… really, really big snakes.
Craig Foster (Robinson) is a divorced, down-on-his-luck single dad in Florida with dreams of owning his own saw palmetto business. However, he can’t get a loan to establish his farm. When he hops into an Uber one day and is attacked by a Burmese python, his comical, quick-killing tactics earn him the mistaken identity of a professional python hunter.
After another professional hunter trash-talks him and threatens to take him down in the upcoming python hunting competition, Craig discovers the cash prize is $20,000—the exact amount he needs to start his business. So, he signs up, and the rest is history.
Killing It is well written, with the right amount of witty comedy, and Robinson is a joy to watch, as he’s funny just standing around staring at a wall. So, kick your shoes off and settle in for some laughs.

From Seth Meyers and Lorne Michaels comes one of my favorite sitcoms, A.P. Bio. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia's Glenn Howerton stars as disgraced Harvard philosophy scholar Jack Griffin, who loses out on his dream job and returns to Toledo, Ohio. There, he goes to work as a high school Advanced Placement biology teacher and absolutely hates it.
Disgruntled, selfish, and riddled with sardonic wit, Jack makes it perfectly clear to his students that he does not want to be there, teaching high school is beneath him, and he will not be teaching biology. Instead, his class will be helping him plot how to get the things he wants in his life.
If you’re a fan of It’s Always Sunny..., this is Dennis in a classroom setting with a bunch of smart kids. “Everybody start to shut up” is his favorite opening line, and in Griffin, the show carries a sting of bitterness and mockery, which makes A.P. Bio a must-watch series for anyone looking for a good laugh, as well as one of the funniest comedy shows streaming today.

Peacock Original We Are Lady Parts is a brilliant British sitcom inspired by the life of Pakistani-American Writer and Director Nida Manzoor. Her series represents the challenges Muslim women face on their journey to find their individual voice while remaining true to their roots.
We Are Lady Parts mainly follows Amina Hussein (Anjana Vasan), a shy Ph.D. student who doesn’t expect to but winds up joining the all-Muslim-women band Lady Parts as their lead guitarist. This coming-of-age story uses music and comedy to explore dreams, identity, and desires, and to poignantly portray those humorous, often awkward, situations that arise when different worlds/cultures meet.
This Peacock Original is fascinating and fun to watch, as it challenges stereotypes and presents us with the perspectives of Muslim women on their varied experiences.

Relationships, personal issues, and werewolves. That’s what you’ll get with comedy-drama series Wolf Like Me, which turned out to be a fabulous little hidden gem of a story.
Gary (Josh Gad) is a single father raising his daughter in the wake of his wife’s death. After a car accident, he meets a mysterious woman named Mary (Isla Fisher), and the two form an immediate connection. There’s only one thing: She’s hiding a gnarly secret that she is a werewolf. As the three become their own little family, you’ll never guess what happens along the way.
I loved watching Wolf Like Me, and while there’s been no official word on its renewal or cancellation, I’m keeping my fingers crossed we’ll get the next phase of this story. Season two left us with a pretty big cliffhanger. Regardless of renewal or not, you should never ignore a canceled show!

Rutherford Falls flew completely under the radar, so if you missed it, you should backtrack. It’s a comedy about two lifelong best friends, Nathan Rutherford (Ed Helms) and Reagan Wells (Jana Schmieding), who find themselves at a literal crossroads when their sleepy little town (and the Native American reservation it borders) gets a rude awakening. When drivers keep hitting a local town statue of Rutherford Falls’ founder, Nathan’s ancestor, the mayor decides to move it. Nathan, however, has other plans.
I love this show because it tests the loyalty between two friends of warring cultures and uses humor, jokes, and irony to highlight any present biases surrounding Native Americans. Also, its intelligent use of both a marginalized group and a white community to compare and contrast societal views on their heritage and preservation is genius and very well utilized.

In this political thriller, which is based on a novel of the same name, Eddie Redmayne stars as an elite sniper, a highly trained killer, and a master of disguise in The Day of the Jackal. As the Jackal, Redmayne is an assassin who coldly carries out hits for a hefty fee. When he’s hired by a militant French paramilitary group to assassinate the French president, he must complete the task before the French police identify and apprehend him—but they aren’t his only threat.
The Jackal is known for his meticulous planning and mastery of disguise not just in his work life but, it appears, also at home. He works diligently to hide his identity in his split worlds. This is a series that plays out slowly—carefully—but is full of intrigue in watching Redmayne transform and slip through dangerous fingers.
Expect the tension to amp up throughout the season. By the finale, you’ll be craving more.

I’m a huge fan of sword-and-sandal epics, and Those About to Die did not disappoint. Set in the corrupt world of the spectacle-driven gladiatorial games of Ancient Rome, the series explores the dirty, gritty business of entertaining the masses and satiating their mob lust for what they desire most: blood and sport.
Those About to Die centers on gladiatorial combat and the cutthroat world of betrayal and behind-the-scenes politics. Expect to meet an ensemble cast of characters—many of whom existed during this time but whose tales are fictionalized in the series—from all corners of the Roman Empire. Then, immerse yourself in their collision at the intersection of sports, politics, and dynasties set against the backdrop of the violent grandeur of Roman bloodsport. I promise, you will be entertained.

A gritty, compelling (and suspenseful!) murder mystery, Long Bright River is all about the choices we make in life that lead us to take the actions we do. Based on the book of the same name, the series looks at the dangerous world of drugs and murder, the effects of addiction on users, families, and communities, and the strained relationship between two sisters.
Amanda Seyfried is Mickey Fitzpatrick, a Philadelphia patrol officer whose beat is a poverty-stricken neighborhood hit hard by the opioid epidemic. Her sister Kacey (Ashleigh Cummings) is a drug addict who goes missing, and when a series of murders start occurring in the Kensington neighborhood, Mickey realizes her personal history might be related.
Seyfried gives a memorable performance, as she always does, and this narrative is enough to keep you tuned in to what’s happening with Mickey while searching for Kacey and trying to figure out who the serial killer is.
Long Bright River brings deep awareness to the fact that suffering exists, that it is prevalent, and that, because it’s so overlooked, minimized, and ignored, it becomes pervasive. It’s a sobering picture of how addicts and addiction are received by others as well as the empathy required to maintain relationships.

Poker Face is one of Peacock’s biggest original hits. It follows human lie detector Charlie Cale (Natasha Lyonne) as she travels the country in her beloved Plymouth Barracuda, solving crimes. When she encounters a strange crime, she can’t help herself, and she must investigate and unravel the knots, which she always does with cool smarts and a lot of swag.
Poker Face functions as a mystery-of-the-week-type series, where Charlie finds herself wrapped up in a new crime, in a new location, each episode. Its technique of blending crime-solving abilities with humor and interesting character-driven narratives only serves to highlight Charlie’s unique perspective and ability to see clean through deception like it’s a piece of glass.
You’ll enjoy her crime-solving approach, and the show’s theatrical approach tends to feel like you’re watching an entertaining play.

Christopher Meloni is back, baby, and he’s not playing around. Reprising the role he originated on Law & Order: SVU, Meloni stars as Det. Elliot Stabler, who returns to New York after 10 years abroad to rebuild his life following a devastating, life-changing personal loss. As lead detective in the Organized Crime Control Bureau, Stabler works to dismantle the city’s most violent illegal enterprises while fending off the dangers that follow him home.
While Law & Order: Organized Crime premiered on NBC with a crossover event, season five’s episodes are only available to stream on Peacock. This makes Organized Crime the first Law & Order franchise series to move exclusively to a streaming platform. If you thought the episodes airing on network TV were intense, wait until you catch season five on Peacock.
