About Tim Rattray

Tim Rattray is a contributor at How-To Geek with a focus on gaming technology. With over 15 years working in the entertainment, gaming, and tech spaces, he comes equipped with the know-how to guide you on your tech help journey.

Tim got his start at Slide To Play in 2009, critiquing mobile games in their most experimental era while extensively covering the launch of groundbreaking technologies like the iPad. This fascination with Apple and the tech space—borne from countless car rides with his father listening to the likes of Leo Laporte and Andy Ihnatko—fueled his excitement for breaking the latest news in the mobile space to consumers, and is a lineage he continues with his work at How-To Geek.

Some other outlets Tim has written for include Nintendo Life, RPGFan, Crunchyroll, Switch Player Magazine, Anime News Network, and his own blog Thoughts That Move and Medium page. One of his major focal points is exploring the intersetion of games and mental health, particularly insomuch as how interactivity can be used as a teaching tool. He's collaborated with organizations like IGDA NYC and Take This in these ongoing efforts, and given talks at NarraScope and Hunter College.
